Flower Notes: Previously classified in the Lily Family (in OAF). Also known as Scottish Asphodel or Greater Tolfieldia. 10-30 cm tall. Basal leaves, linear-acuminate, rigid, couplet , 2-15 cm long, 2-4 mm broad. Stem leaves 1-4, small. Rather dense raceme, ovoid to cylindrical, 1-6 cm long, often spaced at the base; greenish yellow flowers . These grouped by 1-3 in the axil of an undivided bract. Pedicellate with a scarious three- calicle , lobed . Tepals 6, lanceolate, 2-3.5 mm long. Stamens 6. Styles 3. Capsule approx. 4 mm.
