Walking Notes: Sils Maria, right bank of Fedacla for c. 1km. Then across the torrent to Petprier. Right bank of Ava da Fedoz to the crossing at c. 2000m. Descent alongside left bank to Ca d'Starnam to Lej da Segl and Maloja
Location: Just beyond the bridge across the Fedacla
Flower Notes: Similar to Aquilegia vulgaris which is 30-80cm tall; leaves triternately compound; flowers large, nodding, with 5 petal-like tepals, deep violet or pink, 3-5cm across, with 1-1.5cm long, backward-directed spurs. But the whole plant is smaller and the flowers are mostly brown-violet/deep purple, stamens longer than the perianth. 300-2100m, flowering time 6-7. Not common.
