Location: Close to the Cabane des Aiguilles Rouges
Flower Notes: Not sure about this since OAF and FH indicate that it is found only in the Monte Rosa massif and this example was seen in the Val d'H‚rens. However, others have found it in the Engadine. 3-12cm tall; basal leaves gramineous, more than 15 times as long as wide; flowers in multi-coloured head; bracts 4-7 times as long as wide, as long or longer than the head, with teeth at the base; corolla 1-1.5cm long, curved about the middle of the head, blue-violet. Rocky crevasses; substratum poor in calcium. 2200-3200m, flowering time 7-8.
