Walking Notes: Randa to the Kin Hut, descent via Edelweissweg across the Wildibach to Springelboden, Täschberg and Täsch and train back to Zermatt
Location: On the Edelweissweg between the Kin Hut and the Europaweg junction at pt. 2228
Flower Notes: 5-20cm tall; leaves lanceolate, tomentose (especially underneath), capitula 2-10, grouped umbel-like, surrounded by whitely tomentose leaves which form star-shaped envelope; outer florets filiform, the inner ones tubular, yellowish. Open grassland, rocky ledges, steep slopes; dry, base-rich, meagre, stony soils. 1600-2800m, flowering time 7-8. Rather rare.
